Roger Harmon, BSEE, PE - Senior Engineer

Roger Harmon is a senior noise engineer. He specializes in planning, preparing for, and conducting field noise testing. In addition, he conducts laboratory analysis of recorded samples, reduces acoustical data, and prepares preliminary reports. He has substantial experience in analyzing acoustical problems involving environmental, community, industrial and occupational noise. Roger is also qualified to conduct audiometric testing for companies complying with OSHA’s hearing conservation regulations and supervises the practicum component of our audiometric testing and hearing conservation seminars.

Roger has extensive experience in in¬dustrial and environmental noise assessment as well as product noise and audiometric testing. Because of his training and background in electronics, computers, software, and real time data acquisition, he is uniquely qualified to design and set-up instrumentation for acoustical monitoring.. Roger also has experience in testifying for litigation.

Roger began his career with Commonwealth Edison and was responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining critical electronic controls at generating stations.

He later became associated with Underwriters Laboratory (UL) in Northbrook, Illinois. As a project engineer, Roger was responsible for a wide variety of electronic, software, and testing assignments. He later took charge of UL's acoustical testing facility and was responsible for achieving compliance with the American National Standards Institute. As Lab Coordinator, he was responsible for the acquisition, calibration, and maintenance of lab instrumentation, measurement of the sound emissions from noise sources, development of procedures, and UL standards for product noise measurements

Roger also worked as a consultant to Riverbank Acoustical Labs in setting up tests for sound absorption and sound transmission.
